So by now you have heard a lot about these 'Keratin Smoothing Treatments', they are all the rage. They have revolutionized a huge part of the beauty industry. These treatments have cut styling time down by less than half and made it so simple for our clients to achieve salon looks on themselves at home.  As a consumer you must first make sure that you are choosing a line that is safe to use.

At Salon Del Mar we are committed to using high-end luxury smoothing lines that are both safe for our clients and our professional team of stylists. We only book after hours, on off days when there are limited people in salon, or house calls outside.

This blog will teach you everything you need to know from immediate after care > to long term preservation of your smoothing treatment > so you can get the maximum benefits from our treatments. 

So, you have just left the salon after your Keratin Treatment. Your stylist has done a thorough job of working the treatment deep into your hair with heat and smoothing techniques. Your hair is unbelievably smooth and silky. ( Don't worry if your hair seems too 'flat or limp', once you wash your hair for the first time you will get a little body back) Now you start the countdown.... you have 24 hours to keep your hair as smooth and free of moisture as possible. 

If your hair comes into contact with ANY moisture, or develops ANY kinks/bumps during the days to follow or during sleep before your first wash, you must work quickly to dry and re-smooth your hair. (ANY moisture = sweat during sleep, steam from the shower, beach walks, kinks/bumps (= pony tail marks from putting hair up, sleeping on your hair, tucking your hair behind ears)

NOTE: Going longer than 24 hours does not increase the effect of the product. To receive the maximum benefit from the treatment, wash as close to 24 hours as possible. 

-When it’s time to wash your hair and see your new look… This next part is the most important part of maintaining the longest lasting results from your treatment. You must use a SULFATE-FREE shampoo and conditioner. We recommend:
